shOOping [May. 14th, 2006|06:00 am]
[mood | geeky]
[music |Damien Rice - Volcano]

did a little shopping yesterday. we got our mom stuff, of course. :)

also, finally got a PS2 flat and a copy of Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence, as well. Wanted to get a copy of Final Fantasy IX as well (quiet, i've barely been into console gaming for like a yearish now, haha) but the guy at Gamestop couldn't find one than went on talking about how PS1 games (yes, yes i know everyone calls 'em "PSX" but i prefer "PS1") are going more and more out of "style" as the PS3 approaches and Gamestop (and EB Games) are slowly going to like phase out their PS1 stuff.. meaning.. at the very least if you bring in your PS1 games they won't give you any money for it.. or refuse them all together. Though, I'm not sure if this actually has started yet or not. Either way, the conclusion? Gonna have to do online shopping for PS1 games. That's fine.

Anyway, also got a Strawberry-Banana SoBe than got home and ordered all the Azumanga Daioh DVDs + boxset.. which should get here in about "2-6 weeks" hopefully, the earlier 2 than the later 6. :d

we're getting a swamp cooler installed in here, wednesday. thank god.

I hate to be so cliched.. [Apr. 14th, 2006|02:42 pm]
well okay, so my favorite song of all time is undoubtely Gershwin's "Rhapsody in Blue" .. but that's not exactly something you can sing.. well, unless of course you want to hum and "la de da" the melodies. ;)

So what's my favorite song of all time with lyrics that can actually be sung? Without a doubt it is.. "Suck A Camel's Dick" by Wesley Willis.

Ha.. no, but really.. like I said, "I hate to be so cliched.." and as much as I'd love to "impress" some of you with my "indieness" I would pretty much say it's undoubtely "Bridge Over Troubled Water" .. oh fuck, what a beautiful song. Art may look like a goof, but god, what a moving vocal performance! And of course, those lyrics of Paul's! Anyway, I want to be that ("a bridge over troubled water") for my friends, but in the meantime, alas, I am a rather crooked and creaky "bridge" who needs to work on itself.

Was that cheesy? I'm sorry. :/

I had a nightmare. [Mar. 30th, 2006|10:19 pm]
[music |Elvis Costello]

and man, i never remember dreams/nightmares, but i remembered this one.. well some of it.. seems i've forgotten a bit of this nightmare already.

oh and dreams/nightmares don't have to directly involve you right? 'cos i felt like i was nothing more than an "invisible" observer or something in my nightmare.. no one talked to my or acknowledged my prescence and it was all rather 1st person perspective as opposed to those dreams where you see yourself or whatever.

anyway, now that i really think about it i can't remember enough to convince anyone why i call this a nightmare and not simply just a "freaky dream" but here's what i can remember it involving though, again, it'll just come off as a "freaky dream":

1.it starts off fairly normal (normal compared to where it goes, i mean, believe me) .. their's this guy he was like rather middle age, raggedy, and stuff.. he's kind of the "star" of the dream.. anyway, he murders someone (or maybe it was more than one person)

2.the police find out about murder try to find out who does it.. they don't as i recall and if they do the guy isn't caught or anything by them.

3.the guy does get caught by some sort of people though.

4.these people yak randomly about a human's true identity or some shit like that.

5.the people put the guy in the water.. in such a way.. that he's drowning.

6.anyway, some freakish giant man that's sort of like a fish or something swims through.. the guy starts screaming in terror.. you kinda feel for him.. and voices going, "THIS is the secret identity of humans" or something like that.. the guy tries but the manfish thing eats him.

7.complete random WTF moment.. i remember seeing a nude (those the naughty bits were for some reason covered by reflections of light or something) Bette Middler sort of floating randomly upwards and downwards in the water.. and she had this look in her eyes and expression in her "smile" that quite frankly kinda frightened the hell out of me. And man, no, I DON'T know why Bette Middler.. I haven't talked about her lately, I haven't seen any of her movies/shows/whatever the hell it is she's been in lately, and I haven't even HEARD her name lately. Bette Middler simply hasn't popped into my mind (and no.. she's never nude when I think of her) for at least like half a year if not more. But yet there she is in my nightmare being like one of the most freakiest parts (that I can recall at least)

Oh and it wasn't exactly Bette Middler with the arms and legs and all.. I mean it wasn't quite a mermaid or anything, but it was like a "Bette Middler sea creature"

Yes, it sounds like a cheesy and laughable sci-fi movie, but i gotta stress it looked/felt/seemed SO real. Haha it was almost like I was having a vision more than dreaming or something, but I'm not THAT paranoid. ;P

So any of you folks good at interpreting dreams or ever had a similiar(ly freaky) dream?

"Last year we weren't able to make $200+ million dollars off you suckers" [Feb. 26th, 2006|01:37 pm]
[mood | bored]

the announcer was all like "LAST YEAR OVER $300 MILLION DOLLARS WORTH OF RECYCLEABLES IN CALIFORNIA WERE NOT RECYCLED JUST THROWN AWAY.. PLEASE RECYCLE"

my response to that? how about having normal exchange rates you bastards! in most states 20 cans get you a $1.. you know what 20 cans get you California? like 15 fucking cents. bitches.

my father tells me that actually California used to have some of the best rates in the country (or at the very least NORMAL ones like the other states do), but than they figured out a way they could get most of the money (from recycleables) and all.

U2 is amazing [Feb. 5th, 2006|03:02 pm]
[mood | cynical]
[music |U2 - Wake Up Dead Man]

Jesus, Jesus help me
I'm alone in this world
and a fucked up world it is too
tell me, tell me the story
the one about eternity
and the way it's all gonna be
Wake up wake up dead man
Wake up wake up dead man

Jesus, I'm waiting here boss
I know You're looking out for us
but maybe your hands aren't free
Your Father, He made the world in seven
He's in charge of heaven
will You put a word in for me
Wake up wake up dead man
Wake up wake up dead man

Listen to your words they'll tell you what to do
Listen over the rhythm that's confusing you
Listen to the reed in the saxophone
Listen over the hum of the radio
Listen over sounds of blades in rotation
Listen through the traffic and circulation
Listen as hope and peace try to rhyme
Listen over marching bands playing out their time
Wake up wake up dead man
Wake up wake up dead man

Jesus, were you just around the corner?
Did You think to try and warn her?
or are You working on something new?
If there's an order in all of this disorder
is it like a tape recorder?
Can we rewind it just once more?
Wake up wake up dead man
Wake up wake up dead man

The Road to Heaven [Jan. 14th, 2006|03:00 pm]
[mood | complacent]

They say the road to heaven is paved with good intentions
Well I think it's also got a lot of judgemental christians
Ones that claim that their always their to lend you a helping hand
and than they spit in your face in your time of need
But at least they are paying attention unlike you
Maybe you could throw a couple of bricks at me
Just a sign that you are at least listening
Because I'd rather be hurt than completely ignored
Wouldn't you?

if you "believe".. [Nov. 17th, 2005|10:59 pm]
why do you believe?

does it truely bring happiness to you or is it a security blanket you're using to avoid your troubles, a way to convince yourself that "All these trials and tribulations will be worth it, because I'll be awarded for being faithful when I die?"

'cos quite frankly i don't know

why i should believe in anything at all.

goddamnit.. stop hurting me.

"the home of the brave and of the weak [Nov. 3rd, 2005|05:24 am]
[music |Jars of Clay - Boy on a String]

why'd you have to break all my heart? couldn't you have saved a little bit of it?"

if you don't know.. sure those lyrics are "so emo" (i guess) but it's from a Rufus Wainwright song so it's certain not from an emo song in the truest sense.. meaning their's actual musical skill involved. *skillfully dodges flying rocks and cans*

[mood | bored]
[music |The Velvet Underground - Rock & Roll]

Lately I've been gaining an increased interest/apperciation for opera singers (the male ones more than the female ones.. i think it's just amazing how deep some of those guys can go), tin pan alley, etc.

Sometimes I feel like an old gay man in a straight guy's body.

Жизнь красивейша. Het lelijke leven van de vloek.
